Started as a square dance band, Mammoth Donkey brings friends from Southwest Virginia and the Piedmont of North Carolina together to play for folks who want to dance. The band’s specialties are hard driving fiddle tunes and swinging two-step dance numbers. Aran Garnett-Deakin leads melodies on the fiddle and vocals, while Will Frazier rocks the banjo. Driving the rhythm is Tim Thornton on guitar and Doug Shadwick on the bass.
