Sula’s Front Porch

Sula’s Front Porch at The Listening Room at The Village Chapel in Draper.

Sula’s Front Porch is the award-winning duo of Aran Garnett-Deakin and Tim Thornton. Aran is an old time fiddler and classical violinist who also plays banjo, guitar and mandolin. Tim adds guitar, dulcimer, banjo, mandolin and banjo mandolin. They sing, too. Frequent performers at The Floyd Country Store and other New River Valley venues, Sula’s Front Porch has also played at events such as the Montgomery Museum’s Heritage Day and Saltville’s Hobart Smith Day. Sula’s Front Porch sets are typically built on fiddle tunes, old timey songs and traditional ballads but the duo also covers singer songwriters such as Kate Wolf, Townes Van Zandt and Sierra Ferrell.
